PCS A to Z: D for Domestic Abuse

In our A to Z of benefits of joining the union, D is for our work around domestic abuse, providing help and support, education and campaigning.

PCS offers confidential help with problems outside the workplace, not just at work. Our workplace reps have a wealth of experience and can offer support if you are suffering from domestic abuse, whether it be physical or psychological violence or economic abuse.

We also campaign against cuts to services that provide support for people experiencing domestic abuse, and have called for an emergency support fund for domestic abuse survivors to offset the impact of the cost-of-living crisis, to provide financial support for community and legal services, and to raise awareness of domestic abuse.

For our reps, our regular Combatting Domestic Abuse course helps reps understand the issues and teaches them how to understand and support members who are experiencing domestic abuse or violence. For more info, please visit the courses webpage.
