The general secretary and assistant general secretary ballot is now open, this is a postal vote so look out for your ballot paper. Also there is a course on British sign language and courses on bullying and cancer in the workplace 

Your voice matters: Vote in the PCS General Secretary and Assistant General Secretary election

The union urges you to exercise your rights as a member by voting. It’s your union. Voting will strengthen the union as we face the challenges of the next five years.


Young activists on the rise

Our national campaign has helped galvanise a new wave of active young PCS members, many of whom are getting involved in a union for the first time. If you’re aged 27 or under you can join the PCS young members’ network


Join our Green Forum on 18 November to take action for people and planet

Our Green Forum will discuss how union members can make a difference with environmental initiatives and delivering net zero. Attendance is free and open to any member or rep. Sign up online.


Training courses to help get you involved in your PCS AGM

We have a new course specially for young members and one for reps who make the arrangements for their branch Annual General Meeting.


PCS delegation to Ukraine

PCS is sending a solidarity delegation to Ukraine to meet trade unionists, visit workplaces and help deliver aid.


Cancer in the Workplace

14 November: 10am – 4pm

This course will; help reps explore issues to be faced if a union member is diagnosed with cancer, including their rights to time-off; campaign for and negotiate improved employer policies


British Sign Language ('taster' session)

14 November: 12:30am – 1:30pm

PCS understands the importance of supporting our deaf members in the workplace, and this bitesize session is an opportunity for members and reps to learn the basic principles of British Sign Language, as well as to learn how to sign some simple words.


Bullying

15 November: 10am – 4pm

This course helps you define bullying behaviours and outlines how PCS reps can help individual members who complain of bullying.


Combatting Domestic Abuse

16 November: 10am – 4pm

This short course is aimed at PCS reps and will assist you in developing a better understanding of domestic abuse issues, to consider, understand and support members experiencing domestic abuse and violence.


Advocates Next Steps

16 November: 12pm – 1pm

The aim of this session is to continue to develop the skills of union advocates who have begun to carry out the role' and to give them confidence in talking to members to help build the union.


Green Forum 2023 - hybrid meeting

18 November: 9:30pm – 4pm

The forum will focus on our proposals for building a workers’ plan for a National Climate Change and Biodiversity Service, and for sustainable workplaces.
