New feature for website accessibility tools

The Recite Me toolbar now includes Focus Text, to make text easier and quicker to read.

Our online accessibility tool Recite Me helps to eliminate barriers for people accessing online content by allowing website visitors to customise content. The range of features includes a screen reader, the ability to customise the appearance of the text, change the language and use reading aids such as a ruler. Now the toolbar has a new feature, “Focus Text”.

What does Focus Text do?

By highlighting key parts of words, Focus Text helps users process information more efficiently and with greater ease. Research has shown that this technique can increase reading speed by up to 27% and improve comprehension by up to 20%.

Focus Text guides the eyes to the most informative parts of words, helping readers grasp sentence meanings more effectively.

Focus Text can be especially helpful for individuals with reading difficulties by increasing accessibility and reducing cognitive load and visual stress. These techniques have been reported to enhance comprehension for individuals with dyslexia by as much as 25%.

How to use it
