Invite your MP to PCS briefing on DWP staffing crisis

As part of our campaign, we are seeking support from MPs and are holding a parliamentary briefing on 12 March.

Members shared testimonies about the impacts of the staffing crisis with us in November and you identified that all areas in the DWP are understaffed. The jobcentre network is, by the DWP’s own admission, over 10% understaffed. This has left our members very stressed and overworked and unable to offer the service level required by claimants.

To make matters worse, the DWP is not taking the staffing crisis seriously with the Work and Pensions Secretary, Mel Stride, and the Permanent Secretary refusing our request to meet with them and instead delegating the issue to less senior staff in the DWP. We finally met with DWP 11 weeks after sharing the dossier with them.

Our parliamentary briefing will be on Tuesday 12 March at 4pm.

Complete our simple form to email your MP to ask them to attend the briefing.

Make sure your MP gets an invite to our parliamentary briefing.

If your colleagues are not PCS members, ask them to join PCS and ask their MP to join our event in parliament.
