G4S strike pickets, parliament and petition: get involved

Another wave of strike action begins on Monday (29) as jobcentre security guards employed by G4S fight for fair pay and conditions.

PCS members up and down the regions and nations will begin another five days of strike action in their ongoing dispute: Monday 29 July to Friday 2 August. The hardworking security guards have been buoyed by support from fellow members, the public and this week in parliament.

Interventions in the Commons came from Jon Trickett and Kim Johnson who decried the wastefulness and exploitation of civil service outsourcing practices which Labour have promised to bring to an end. G4S security guards are fighting for civil service status with fairer terms, conditions and pay enjoyed by their colleagues in the same buildings.

Last week saw incredible carnival atmospheres at picket lines as members got their message across. Now is the time to join them and get involved. A list of pickets and times is below. Meanwhile, we are urging members and friends and family to sign this e-action to keep up the pressure on the government to hold good to their promised an end exploitative and inefficient outsourcing.
