Further meetings dates - have your say on the 2024 Facilities Management Pay Claim

We have added two further meeting dates on the 13 and 14 February to give PCS members employed in outsourced Facilities Management (FM) roles the opportunity to gives us your views on your 2024 pay demands

What is your number one priority on pay?

We have held three meetings so far to hear what your pay priorities are for 2024 pay. Members working across FM have told us that they want:

  • A significant increase in base pay to allow you to at least maintain your living standards during the cost-of-living crisis.
  • Safe contractual sick pay from day one of illness, so you can afford to take time off when unwell to rest and recuperate, without having to worry how you will meet the bills.
  • Employers to fund new and the renewal of SIA (Security Industry Authority) licenses which are a legal requirement for anyone undertaking a private security role within the UK and paid time off to undertake the relevant raining.

Additional meeting details

Meetings will be held on:

Tuesday 13 February from 20:00-21:00

Wednesday 14 February from 13:00-14:00

There is one Zoom link for both meetings. Meeting ID: 895 4944 8365, passcode: 661704

Have you say

Feedback from PCS members is that improving pay is one of the most important aspects of union membership. That is why we want to hear from all PCS members working as caterers, cleaners, maintenance, porters, receptionists, security guards and all other facilities roles employed on outsourced UK civil service, Metropolitan Police and museum and gallery contracts.

After the consultation exercise

After we have received your feedback, PCS’s national executive committee (NEC) will consider your views before finalising the claim and submitting it to your employer, regardless of whether your employer recognises PCS or not.

How you and other FM members can win on pay.

  • Attend one of the FM pay consultation meetings and bring a colleague with you.
  • Complete the FM cost of living survey and share the link with your work mates.
  • Encourage a colleague who is not yet a member to join PCS today.
