First Welsh conference motion highlights importance of Welsh language

Ian Thomas, of the Senedd Commission branch, moved the first motion, in Welsh and English, of the historic PCS Wales Devolved Policy Making Conference, which noted the importance of the Welsh language in Wales.

Motion A1, which was formally seconded and carried overwhelmingly, read:

“Conference notes the importance of the Welsh language in Wales.
Conference believes that the formal title of the committee should be clear and concise in both official languages.
Conference Resolves to delete all of Section 1 of the proposed constitution and replace with:
The title of the Committee shall be the Public and Commercial Services Union Wales Executive Committee | Pwyllgor Gweithredol Cymru Yr Undeb Gwasanaethu Cyhoeddus a Masnachol   (hereinafter referred to as the WEC).”
