Block Vote by-election update

There will be a by-election ballot to fill vacant seats on the Group Young Members' Advisory Committee. Other nominees for positions in other Advisory Committees were elected unopposed.

Therefore, as a result of the above nominations:

  • There will be an election for Young Members Advisory Committee (3 valid nominees for 2 vacancies)
  • There is one remaining vacancy for the post of Group Auditor, which the GEC may fill, in accordance with Block Vote Regulation 4
  • Both candidates for the Environmental Advisory Committee are elected unopposed (there is one remaining vacancy, which the GEC may fill, in accordance with Block Vote Regulation 4)
  • Both candidates for the Regional Learning Co-ordinator posts are elected unopposed (there are remaining vacancies in areas other than London and South East, Merseyside, Midlands, Yorkshire and Humber; which the GEC may fill, in accordance with Block Vote Regulation 4)
  • Both candidates for the Standing Orders Committee are elected unopposed (no remaining vacancies)
  • Both candidates for the Editorial Board are elected unopposed (no remaining vacancies)
  • All 5 candidates for the LGBT Advisory Committee are elected unopposed (no remaining vacancies)
  • The candidate for the Black Members Advisory Committee is elected unopposed (no remaining vacancies).

The election for the Young Members Advisory Committee will be conducted by electronic voting. Branch Secretaries will receive notices to their personal e-mail address directly from the independent scrutineers. 

The ballot will open on Tuesday 20 August 2024 and close at noon on Thursday 5 September 2024. We will publish the results as soon as they are received from the independent scrutineer.
