26 April: meet PCS General Secretary and activists at Belfast event

There is an exciting opportunity for activists from across PCS branches in Northern Ireland to meet one another, take part in training workshops, and hear from guest speakers including general secretary Fran Heathcote from 12-5pm on 26 April.

Fran is doing a question and answer session with participants and looking forward to hearing how reps and members are helping to get the vote out in the national ballot, which runs until 13 May. The venue is Irish Congress, 45-47 Donegall Street, Belfast, BT1 2FG.

Fran said: "I'm really looking forward to meeting our members and activists in Northern Ireland to hear about their issues and to respond to their questions. Also, at an important time in our national ballot, to hear about the work they've been doing to turn the vote out.”

After the successful PCS national conferences for Wales and Scotland in 2023, the Regional Committee of Ireland was inspired to put on an event for reps and activists in Northern Ireland. The Belfast event will include training workshops on organising and political campaigning.

Billy O'Gorman, a member of the PCS Regional Committee of Ireland said: “This event is about working honestly and determinedly together. We’ve got a great chance to get all the branches in Northern Ireland together so we can collaborate and maximise our ability to deliver for all of our PCS Members both industrially and politically.”
