Who's it for
Members and Reps

On Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 January 2023, PCS is holding an in-person national equality seminar at The Eastside Rooms conference space with accommodation at Aloft hotel in Birmingham.

The theme is "equality, inclusion and diversity – challenging stereotypes and accepting differences”.

There are 100 places available for members and reps who identify under one or more protected characteristic: disabled, LGBT+, black* and women.

Attendees will be invited to attend a mix of plenary and workshop sessions, focussing on issues affecting our members. There will be an opportunity to work together as well as in separate disabled, LGBT+, women and black equality groups.

The aim of the equality seminar is to increase participation of our under-represented groups and build our equality networks nationally, and in the regions and nations which link in with our organising, campaigns and learning objectives.

Attendees will hear from the PCS General Secretary Mark Serwotka and other speakers. The weekend will be chaired by PCS National President Fran Heathcote.

The deadline to apply to attend the seminar has now passed.

*Please note, ‘Black’ is used in the political context to apply to people who are Asian, Chinese, African, African/Caribbean, Arabic etc. i.e. people from African and Asian Diaspora, including people of dual heritage.
