The PCS national black members' committee (NBMC), in collaboration with the international committee (IC), is holding a virtual meeting that will feature insights from Louise Regan, vice-chair of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, Terina Hine, national officer from the Stop the War Coalition, and John Moloney, PCS assistant general secretary.

The unfolding events in Israel and Palestine since October 7 2023 have been deeply distressing and constitute a violation of human decency. It is imperative to recognise the sanctity of every human life, be it Israeli or Palestinian, and emphasise the importance of treating all lives with equal respect. Priority should be given to urgently addressing the release of Israeli hostages in Gaza and the unjustly held Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons.

Throughout the UK, numerous marches have been organised, and ongoing events such as the national demonstration, scheduled by the Palestinian Solidarity Campaign on February 3, demonstrate continued efforts to address the issues at hand. The trade union movement is deeply rooted in principles of solidarity and internationalism. Taking a stand against the injustices in Gaza reflects our commitment to justice and humanity.

With over 26 000 killed in Gaza and the humanitarian crisis increasing day by day, at the meeting we will hear how we can support the cause of Palestine, the impact on your workplace and how to ensure you are protected from any attempts to silence you.

Stay informed and engaged as we navigate these complex and challenging circumstances.
