LSE Proud Network Event

The event  will look at the far right’s attacks on LGBT+ people, both historically and contemporarily, and how we as LGBT+ trade unionists should confront this. This event is particularly timely because 2023 marks the 90th anniversary of the Nazi sacking and closure of Magnus Hirschfeld’s Institut für Sexualwissenschaft in Berlin, and the book burnings that followed, as well as recent far-right intimidation at Drag Story Time events in Honor Oak.

Speakers include:

• Mie Jensen, a PhD student at UCL who has written about LGBTQ+ holocaust studies,
• Jess O’Thomson from the Trans Safety Network,
•  Lee Barham from PCS R&C Branch.

This is a hybrid event being held in person at the Civil Service Club and virtually via Zoom.
