On Monday (27) MPs will debate the remaining stages of the government's illegal migration bill before it begins its journey through the Lords. The Bill, which has received overwhelming condemnation from trade unions, charities and human rights organisations, is the Tories' response to a rise in small boat crossings.
PCS has worked alongside Care 4 Calais for several months to promote a ‘Safe passage’ policy, launching a document in parliament in late 2022.
To mark the debate, PCS, alongside Care 4 Calais and Stand Up To Racism, will host a short demonstration with speakers including PCS national vice president Martin Cavanagh.
