All PCS members

The Proud national committee (PNC) supported by the national young members' committee (NYMC) is holding an online workshop to discuss the history of LGBT+ solidarity with the trade union movement and how we can build on that solidarity in the future for young LGBT+ people.

With a presentation of what we have built followed by breakout room discussions on what we can do next, this event promises to be an insightful, interactive event where you can have your say on the future of LGBT+ trade union solidarity.

Members will be able to participate in a discussion on the history of Pride in the UK, emphasising its connections with trade unions. Following this, members will explore the future of Pride, trade unions, and the LGBT+ community. Participants will then feed back on the discussions from the breakout rooms.

The host for the event will be Rose Baker (PNC women’s rep and NYMC equality officer), supported by Heledd Muir-McCann (PNC disability rep) and Finn Weldin (PNC trans rep).

The event is open to all PCS members, especially if you are a young LGBT+ member.

After registering for the event, you will be sent the Zoom link ahead of the session.
