DWP campaign materials and advice

All PCS DWP branches with office closures will be meeting with members to discuss how they respond by 8 July.

PCS has produced a raft of campaign materials for our DWP jobs, services and communities campaign, as well as advice to help impacted branches to campaign both among their membership and in their communities.

Branches wishing to request materials need to send appropriate revisions to the text of the campaign materials making them specific to their local campaigns and completed order forms to dwp@pcs.org.uk

Use the email subject line: Campaign materials

List of available materials and how to use them:

  1. “First they clapped us, then they scrapped us” banners are for use at protests specific to offices that are earmarked for closure and can be ordered using the order template in 2m or 3m format – specify on the order form.
  2. Office closure poster template - The poster is for displaying in local businesses or office noticeboards. It contains QR codes for people to use to take them to the petition and letter to MPs.
  3. Photo opportunity card –  All branches should order the photo opportunity cards. Please use them to take pictures at PCS events and meetings such as BECs. Use the pictures in your social media – Facebook, Instagram, Twitter etc – and send to dwp@pcs.org.uk
  4. Office closure leaflet template  – Branches that have offices closing should use the example from Hanley as a template localising content, including a paragraph to replace the one specifically referencing Hanley. Content for sign-off should be sent to dwp@pcs.org.uk. These leaflets include QR codes linking to the petition and MP letter and are to be shared amongst members and the community.
  5. Your job is under threat recruitment leaflet All branches should order stock of these leaflets. At a time when civil service jobs are under attack it vital that we take the opportunity to speak to non-members with a view to recruiting them.
