Staff at The Mayor’s Office for Police and Crime (MOPAC) to take five days’ strike action

PCS members angry at not receiving the full £1,500 cost-of-living-crisis payment

Staff at The Mayor’s Office for Police and Crime (MOPAC) have announced five days’ strike action.

While the almost 100 Public and Commercial Services (PCS) union members last month won a 7% pay rise, they are angry not to receive the full £1,500 one-off cost-of-living crisis payment paid by other government departments.

The staff, who are responsible for the London equivalent of a regional Police and Crime Commission, overseeing financial scrutiny of the London Metropolitan Police, will take action on September 20, 21, 22, 25 and 26.

PCS general secretary Mark Serwotka said: “Staff at MOPAC are going through the same cost-of-living crisis as other government workers, so they deserve the same payment to help them through it.”
