The United Nations International Day of Older Persons is commemorated on 1 October each year and ARMs will hold an event close to the date to mark it.
The international theme for 2024 is “Fulfilling the Promises of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights For Older Persons: Across Generations”. Our theme is an adaptation of this and will be "Supporting the rights of older people which affect all generations."
Guest speakers are;
- Mohammed Shafiq, chair of PCS national black members' committee,
- Eileen Cawley, development officer for the Scottish Pensioners' Forum,
- Liz Jones from Greater Manchester Older People’s Network,
- Ruth London from Fuel Poverty Action.
