About SOCA group in PCS

The SOCA Group represents 2,600 members in the organisation which reflects approximately 70% of the current workforce.

These members are spread across the entire organisation, in workplaces in 40 different countries with members working in a variety of specialist roles including surveillance, firearms, intelligence, technology, and money laundering.

The SOCA provides an important line of defence against organised crime which affects all PCS members and therefore it is important that the SOCA Group ensures that its members have their say in providing a direction for the organisation and to ensure that it is adequately resourced and capable of delivering its operational objectives.

As the Group looks to the future the recent announcement of SOCA’s merger into the National Crime Agency in 2013 will clearly present significant challenges and the Group are already pursuing active engagement with the Home Office to establish an adequate consultation process in order to ensure that member’s jobs, pay, terms and conditions are protected.
