Personal case numbers continue to increase – mainly as a result of increasingly diverse rules and procedures combined with the impact of job cuts and general pressure on staffing and other resources: as employers seek to get the same work out of fewer workers and provide fewer training opportunities to managers, conflict is almost certain to increase.
For many PCS members, and for the union itself, it is vital that the support offered to members experiencing difficulties in the workplace is effective and robust. To handle such cases effectively, PCS believes that they need to be dealt with at the most local level possible.
