Take action to support doctors and public sector pensions

20 June 2012

Tomorrow (Thursday June 21) doctors are taking industrial action for the first time since 1975 to protest at changes to their pension scheme.

Like civil servants and other public sector workers doctors are being forced to pay more and work longer for smaller pensions.

We are all being told we must work to 68 – when it is clear from official statistics that the average person in the UK is only healthy to their mid 60s.

PCS calls on everyone to support the British Medical Association action today.

Everyone - including doctors - is caught by the government's plan to make people work to at least 68.

Follow this quick and easy link to email the prime minister to tell him 68 is too late to retire.
