PCS communication awards 2013

Once again we're recognising the vital role our groups and branches play in helping members stay informed with our fifth annual communications awards.

New for 2013 there's one overall award for best communications, along with second, third and highly commended prizes.

• Does your branch produce a newsletter that addresses people's concerns in a clear, concise and jargon-free way?

• Is there a particular article or photo that has really grabbed people’s attention?

• Has your branch website been praised for being attractive and for keeping members up-to-date?

What are we looking for?

We're looking for a wide range of entries across the full range of communications, from e-communications to photographs.

Judges will be looking at how well the branch or group communication embeds the union’s national campaign message, helps to increase membership, activity and participation.

They will also be looking for evidence of:

  • Community engagement
  • PCS campaigns being shared with the public
  • Communications being delivered within budget

Entries will need to be supported by a 150-word supporting statement.

Judging and presentations

The awards will be judged by our general secretary Mark Serwotka, national president Janice Godrich, PCS View’s editorial board and representatives from our headquarters’ communications department. They will be presented at the union's annual conference in May.

Please submit your entry on the attached application form to arrive no later than 5pm, 15 March, 2013.
