We Are Norwich, a coalition of 25 groups, made up of trade unions and community and faith groups, staged a counter-demonstration in which the PCS Eastern Region banner was prominent.
One of the organisers of We are Norwich is Julie Bremner, one of PCS Eastern Region’s vice chairs. She said: "Norwich showed today that it is proud to be an open and tolerant city, but we also showed that tolerance ends when it comes to racism, fascism or homophobia being paraded on our streets."
Norwich is the host of the largest Pride event in the East of England every July, which PCS Eastern is proud to support.
