Board of Directors

The Board of Directors determine the policies and procedures of PCS Credit Union and have strategic responsibility for organising and controlling the affairs of PCS Credit Union. They are accountable to the members for the decisions they take in running the credit union. They also perform a Regional Co-ordination role which involves providing support to Local Co-ordinators and co-ordination of promotional work.

PCS Credit Union is now recruiting for additional members of the Board of Directors to supplement the current Board. Please note: as PCS Credit Union is in its 1st year of operation, all Committee members are required to stand down at the 1st AGM but are eligible to stand again. As mentioned above, Regional Co-ordination is an important part of these duties; therefore targeted recruitment is taking place for the following regions:

  • Wales

Supervisory Committee

The Supervisory Committee is responsible for overseeing the running of the credit union and making sure that PCS Credit Union operates within the law, regulation, rules and policies of the credit union, as well as in the interests of its members. The Supervisory Committee must be totally independent of any of the functions it is inspecting.

One vacancy is currently available for an individual to get involved with the internal audit process of PCS Credit Union as well as undergoing ongoing specialist training. Please note: as PCS Credit Union is in its 1st year of operation, all Committee members are required to stand down at the 1st AGM but are eligible to stand again.

Local Co-ordinators

PCS Credit Union is setting up a network of volunteers across the country.  Local Co-ordinators provide face to face contact with members and potential members. They will answer queries and promote the credit union wherever possible.

Can I do this from work?

Negotiations have been taking place with the Cabinet Office for some time to seek paid time off for volunteers in the Civil Service.  So far these have been positively received but no formal agreement has been reached. We will provide you with an update as further progress is made.

Once a facility time framework is established in the Civil Service, we will also approach Commercial Sector employers with the same requests.  This is in anticipation that any agreement made with the Cabinet Office will influence the outcomes with other kindred Commercial Sector employers.
